Nebbi District is ready to host President Yoweri Museveni for a rally this Saturday, with the NRM campaign task force confirming that all preparations have been completed.
State Minister for Mineral Development and Nebbi Woman MP flag bearer, Phiona Nyamutoro, said mobilization has been carried out at all levels to ensure a strong turnout.
“We’ve held final meetings with sub-county NRM leaders to coordinate mobilization and stress punctuality since the rally will be held in the morning,” Nyamutoro told journalists.
She added that the rally is an opportunity for Nebbi to show unwavering support for the President.
“This is more than a rally; it’s a celebration of his leadership and our continued trust in him,” she said.
Nyamutoro emphasized that the President’s visit is intended to thank the district for its ongoing loyalty over the years.
“He’s here to appreciate his people’s support, not to campaign,” she said.
Citing NRM achievements, Nyamutoro highlighted infrastructure and energy improvements. “After decades without ministerial representation, Nebbi now has one. Last year, the President commissioned the Nebbi substation, connecting West Nile to the national grid,” she said.
She also mentioned upgrades to the Nebbi–Goli Road and the development of an industrial park at Omvoro Village, aimed at boosting regional industrial growth.
Nyamutoro urged further investment in health and education, calling for Nebbi General Hospital to be elevated to a regional referral facility and for increased funding for schools.
“With the Parish Development Model being reviewed, strengthening empowerment, health, and education will make Nebbi unstoppable,” she added.
Regarding minerals, Nyamutoro revealed new deposits in the district that the government plans to develop for the benefit of local residents.
Padyere County MP Isaac Otimgiu expressed confidence that Nebbi will set a new benchmark in mobilization, noting that youth and women leagues, PDM groups, and grassroots networks have all been engaged.
“Nebbi will surpass other regions in turnout. Road upgrades and urban development will make the district a model for the region,” he said.
President Museveni is expected to address Nebbi residents on Saturday morning as part of his nationwide campaign tour.
