Hon. Alice Kaboyo, the State Minister for Luwero Triangle and Rwenzori Affairs, concluded a week-long tour of Nakaseke District, combining commemoration, community engagement, and development initiatives. Her visit reaffirmed the government’s commitment to honoring Uganda’s liberation legacy while addressing the district’s socio-economic priorities.
Nakaseke, a key center during the National Resistance Army (NRA) liberation struggle, hosted activities that reconnected the government with civilian veterans and highlighted their role in nation-building. During the closing ceremony, Kaboyo commended the veterans as “living reminders of the sacrifices that secured Uganda’s peace and progress,” recognizing their continued patriotism and service.
The outreach, organized by Senior Presidential Advisor Brig. Jacob Asiimwe, extended across nine sub-counties, focusing on improving service delivery and strengthening support for the NRM government’s development agenda.
As part of her engagements, Minister Kaboyo commissioned a three-classroom block at Ngoma Church of Uganda Primary School, built by NEC Works, a subsidiary of the National Enterprise Corporation. She described the project as a reflection of the government’s commitment to enhancing rural education and urged communities to actively participate in poverty alleviation and youth empowerment programmes.
Kaboyo also announced plans for a medical facility dedicated to civilian veterans, noting that land for the project has already been secured, emphasizing the government’s dedication to their welfare and health.
Concluding her tour, the minister called on the NRM fraternity in Nakaseke to uphold the party’s values of unity, peace, and development, stressing the importance of mentoring the younger generation to preserve stability and sustain progress.
