Popular Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has publicly addressed the arrest of social media personality Luwilight, confirming that he was part of the process that led to authorities taking action over her alleged online conduct. The revelation came during a phone conversation with a local media host, where the singer chose to explain his position following days of public speculation.
Luwilight, a well-known TikTok figure, has reportedly spent close to two weeks in detention over accusations linked to cyber harassment and improper use of digital communication platforms. The controversy centers on statements she allegedly made online targeting Bebe Cool’s wife, Zuena, and members of his family.
The Gagamel boss expressed concern about the nature of the remarks, saying the issue went beyond ordinary online criticism. He pointed out that while public figures often face scrutiny, dragging family members into disputes crosses a boundary that should be respected by everyone using social media.
Bebe Cool acknowledged that he formally reported the matter, explaining that his action was meant to address what he viewed as harmful online behavior. He noted that the intention was not revenge, but rather to draw attention to the seriousness of cyber harassment and its impact on individuals and families.
Despite the tense circumstances, the singer said he has chosen to let go of any bitterness. He shared that he believes the experience has served as a lesson and that holding onto anger would not benefit anyone involved.
He stated clearly that he has forgiven Luwilight and hopes she emerges from the situation with a better understanding of responsible online conduct. According to him, people sometimes act without considering the consequences, but difficult moments can bring growth.
Bebe Cool also used the moment to send a broader message to digital content creators, urging them to be mindful of what they post. He warned that freedom of expression should not be confused with the right to insult or harass others, especially when families are targeted.
As the legal process continues, Luwilight remains in custody while investigations proceed. The case has fueled conversation about online responsibility, reminding many that words shared on digital platforms can carry serious legal and personal consequences.
