St. Mary’s College Mayenze has launched a new bursary program designed to assist bright and dedicated students in Uganda, especially those facing financial challenges.
The initiative provides a 50% reduction in tuition fees for students who perform well academically or in sports. To be eligible, candidates must obtain aggregates between 4 and 14 in the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), giving high achievers a chance to pursue their education with reduced financial pressure.
Additionally, the school is offering an early payment incentive. Parents who clear fees within the first two weeks of the term will benefit from a 2% discount, promoting timely payments and easing financial planning.
During the 2026 academic year, students will also engage in educational trips to historical sites, key landmarks, and the Parliament of Uganda, helping them gain deeper insights into the country’s history, governance, and development.
To encourage academic excellence, students who earn seven or more distinctions will be rewarded with either a cash prize of UGX 50,000 or partial fee waivers in recognition of their efforts.
The school has also introduced support measures for vulnerable learners:
Students who have lost their fathers will receive a 50% fee reduction
Those who have lost their mothers will receive a 25% reduction
Beyond academics, the institution places strong emphasis on spiritual and moral growth. Learners participate in daily prayers, Scripture Union, and Mass, helping to build discipline, faith, and strong character.
Boarding students are provided with balanced meals and organized weekly menus, ensuring their well-being as they focus on their studies.
Through a mix of strong academics, practical exposure, and a nurturing environment, St. Mary’s College Mayenze aims to develop confident, responsible, and well-rounded future leaders.
