KCCA FC has secured a major financial boost ahead of the 2026/27 football season after renewing its partnership with Chint Uganda in a deal worth Shs840 million, doubling the value of the club’s previous agreement with the electrical solutions company.
The renewed partnership, announced in Kampala on Tuesday, will see Chint Uganda continue as KCCA FC’s principal shirt sponsor and official lighting partner, supporting the club’s night matches at the Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo. The new agreement comes after KCCA FC’s recent triumph in the FUFA Super 8 tournament.
KCCA Executive Director Sharifah Buzeki said the partnership has delivered practical benefits to the club over the past four years, particularly through the installation of floodlights and provision of a generator, which have improved the stadium’s capacity to host evening fixtures.
Buzeki expressed appreciation to Chint Uganda for its continued commitment and called on more private companies to invest in Ugandan football. She said stronger partnerships between businesses and sports institutions could help clubs become more sustainable while contributing to the improvement of sports infrastructure.
Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs Hajjat Minsa Kabanda also commended Chint Uganda for maintaining its support for KCCA FC and encouraged other companies to emulate the partnership. “We shall continue to support Chint,” Kabanda said, stressing the importance of increased private-sector involvement in Ugandan football.
Chint Uganda Chief Executive Officer Sherry Shi Namutebi described the renewed agreement as a significant milestone for the company, noting that the partnership has now reached its fourth year. She praised KCCA FC’s leadership for what she described as transformative energy and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the club.
KCCA Deputy Executive Director Benon Kigenyi and club chairperson Eng Andrew Sserunjoji also praised the relationship, with Sserunjoji urging supporters to patronise Chint Uganda’s products as a way of recognising the company’s contribution to the club. The partnership launch also featured the unveiling of KCCA FC’s new home jersey, carrying the Chint Uganda brand.
The event concluded with the unveiling of the club’s new team bus and introduction of new players ahead of the new campaign. Guests also toured Chint Uganda’s facilities, where they were shown a range of electrical, energy and home products, including switches, solar systems, cables, electric vehicle charging solutions, furniture, kitchenware, wardrobes and bathroom fittings.
