City musician Alien Skin and his Fungon crew are now at the center of a serious criminal investigation after police launched a manhunt following the death of a former staff member. The incident has shocked residents and music fans across Uganda.
Authorities report that in Kizungu, Ndebba village, Alien Skin allegedly ordered his bodyguard, Musumali, to forcibly bring Namuwaya Wilfred back to the Fungon basement. Namuwaya had reportedly left the Fungon team without permission, sparking a violent confrontation.
Namuwaya was rushed to Mulago Hospital in critical condition but later died. Police opened a murder case under reference number SD/20/09/25 at Ndebba Police Station. Investigators say this case raises serious concerns over Alien Skin’s alleged violent behavior toward former Fungon staff.
Police reports indicate that Alien Skin has allegedly instructed his bodyguards to attack people who attempt to leave the Fungon team. “No one has the right to force anybody to stay in their camp. No contracts, no appointment letters, no salaries. People are free to leave, and this should not be a crime,” stated Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SSS Patrick Onyango.
Those wanted alongside Alien Skin include several Fungon commanders, such as Mudogo, Ibra Kabadeya, and Jaguro. Authorities have vowed to arrest all suspects and ensure they face the full force of the law.
In a separate operation, police and army personnel raided Fangone Forest for nine hours, recovering dangerous items like arrows, master keys, and hammers. Following the raid, Alien Skin and his gang went into hiding, evading authorities who continue their search.
Residents and music fans have expressed shock and concern at the violent actions reportedly linked to Alien Skin and the Fungon crew. Many are questioning the influence and control the group seems to exert over its members.
Legal experts warn that the case could have serious consequences for Alien Skin and his commanders and may also impact the reputation of Uganda’s music industry. “This is a serious criminal matter. Those responsible must face the full force of the law,” one source said.
Authorities are calling on the public to provide any information that could help locate Alien Skin and the wanted Fungon commanders. Police have promised a thorough investigation and swift justice for the victim.
This case highlights the darker side of Uganda’s music scene and serves as a warning that violent actions, even by celebrities, will not go unchecked by law enforcement.
