My name is Sarah, and I am from Eldoret, Kenya. I have decided to share my experience with parents and families whose children have spent many years searching for a suitable marriage partner without success. I hope my story encourages those who may be facing a similar situation. My daughter was intelligent, hardworking, respectful, and very attractive. Many people admired her character, and I was confident she would settle down shortly after finishing her education. However, as the years went by, no relationship she entered ever progressed into marriage. For close to a decade, several men came into her life,…
Relief and emotion filled the air at Entebbe International Airport on Friday morning as the first group of Ugandans evacuated from South Africa safely returned home under a government-led repatriation programme. The group, made up of 273 people, arrived aboard a specially chartered flight organized by the Government of Uganda following growing security concerns linked to xenophobic attacks in South Africa. The returnees included 255 adults and 18 infants, many of whom had spent anxious weeks uncertain about their future. Their arrival marked the beginning of a wider evacuation exercise aimed at helping Ugandans who no longer feel safe remaining…

My name is Richard and I originate from Kampala Uganda. At one point I often asked myself a single question: why do I work so hard while other people become rich so easily? again. From morning until night I worked, yet I stayed broke. Each time I launched a business it did well briefly before clients vanished and losses started. I observed others who began with less capital than I possessed becoming successful while I kept struggling to settle my bills without any real lasting change happening. Life turned extremely hard and I could barely support my family. Debts continued…
My name is Moses, a businessman based in Kampala, Uganda, and I want to share my experience with anyone who believes that limited capital makes success impossible. A few years ago, I started my business journey with only Shs 100,000, which was the small amount I managed to invest in a street vending venture. Each morning, I would begin my day very early and spend countless hours working hard, determined to turn my small enterprise into something more successful. Despite my dedication, growth was slow and often frustrating. There were days when I earned enough to meet my basic needs,…
A long-running leadership standoff in Mubende Municipality has finally been brought to a halt after Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara stepped in and issued decisive directives aimed at restoring order in the town. The minister ordered all roadside traders to relocate to designated market spaces and instructed taxi operators to stop loading and offloading passengers outside officially gazetted stages. The dispute, which had dragged on for months, pitted municipal authorities against district leaders over the enforcement of urban management regulations. At the heart of the disagreement was the municipality’s push to remove roadside vendors and compel traders to occupy the…
My name is Grace, and I want to share a heartbreaking experience that nearly ruined my marriage and family. For several months, I began noticing unusual changes in my husband’s behavior. He became emotionally distant, stayed away from home more often, and frequently made excuses whenever I asked simple questions about his whereabouts. At first, I chose to overlook the signs because I trusted him deeply. I assumed the stress from work was affecting him and making him less present at home. But as time passed, the situation grew more concerning. He started locking away his phone, returning home late…
My name is Peter, and I am from Arua in Uganda. For many years, my identity in the village was tied to alcohol, as I was widely known as the man who drank every single day. Many people had given up on me completely, believing I would never amount to anything meaningful in life. At one point in my life, I had a steady job and even ran a small business, but my alcohol addiction gradually ruined everything I had built. I lost my source of income, sold off most of my possessions to sustain my drinking habits, and in…
My name is Brian, and I come from Nairobi, Kenya. I never believed that the two people I trusted the most in my life would ever betray me in such a painful way. Sharing this story is not easy, but I hope it can help others who are living with unanswered doubts and painful suspicions. For several months, I noticed my girlfriend behaving differently. She became secretive with her phone, often cancelled our plans, and always had excuses whenever I wanted to spend time with her. Whenever I asked what was wrong, she insisted that I was simply overthinking everything.…
A major boost to Uganda’s infrastructure and economic ambitions has emerged after the government secured €110.5 million (about Shs480 billion) to finance the construction of the long-awaited Kitgum–Kidepo Road. The 115.8-kilometre road project is expected to open up new economic opportunities, strengthen regional connectivity, and accelerate development across Northern Uganda and the Karamoja sub-region. The financing agreement was formally signed by State Minister for Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi and Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Rughani. The partnership marks a significant milestone in government efforts to modernize transport networks and support national development goals through strategic infrastructure…
