The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has begun relocating several of its major departments from Nakawa to RR Pearl Tower, a modern commercial building owned by Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia under the Ruparelia Group.
The phased move, scheduled from October 10th to 19th, 2025, aims to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and customer service. While the relocation is expected to bring significant rental revenue for Sudhir, URA officials emphasize that the decision is strategic, focused on creating a professional and convenient environment for taxpayers.
Key departments moving include the Large Taxpayers Office, Public Sector and Medium Taxpayers Office, Risk and Strategy Department, and Petroleum Division. The first phase of operations at Pearl Tower began on October 13th, with full operations expected by October 20th.
Situated along Yusuf Lule Road, opposite the Ministry of Health, the 22-storey RR Pearl Tower is one of Kampala’s newest Grade-A office spaces. Developed by Meera Investments Limited, it boasts modern infrastructure, energy-efficient systems, reliable internet, 24-hour security, and ample parking—making it a preferred choice for leading businesses.
URA says the move aligns with its ongoing transformation agenda to modernize tax administration and bring services closer to clients.
> “This relocation reflects our commitment to deliver efficient, transparent, and people-centered services,” the Authority stated.
Sudhir’s Pearl Tower continues to attract top tenants, solidifying its reputation as a landmark of modern business excellence and a key feature of Kampala’s skyline.
