Singer Omulangila Suna, widely known as OS Suna, has broken his silence after a recent incident involving opposition leader Bobi Wine caused a wave of online drama. The clash, which unfolded at Mickie Wine’s concert in Kampala, has dominated conversation both on social media and in entertainment circles.
The trouble started when a video clip from the event went viral. In the clip, Suna walks off the stage during his performance and approaches Bobi Wine’s table while singing acapella. Many fans expected a warm interaction, but things took an unexpected turn.

When Suna stretched out his hand to greet the NUP leader, Bobi Wine did not respond. The brief moment was quickly captured, shared, and dissected online, with thousands interpreting it as a deliberate snub from Bobi Wine.
NUP supporters were quick to mock Suna, saying he deserved it. Some claimed he had a history of criticising Bobi Wine and should not have expected a friendly gesture. Their online reactions painted the moment as “karma” coming back to the singer.
Others used the clip to remind Suna of Bobi Wine’s strong influence in Uganda’s music and political landscape. According to them, the incident was a symbol of the opposition leader’s dominance, both on and off the stage.
However, Suna has not taken the criticism lightly. Speaking in an interview, he strongly fired back at NUP supporters, accusing them of promoting a dangerous political culture. He argued that the movement has become too dependent on insults instead of promoting meaningful ideas.
Suna insisted that online mockery does nothing to build a serious political movement. He warned NUP supporters that their approach will not bring them closer to power. “Mark my words, you will not take power by insulting others,” he emphasized.
The singer went further to compare the NUP struggle to President Yoweri Museveni’s rise to power. He described Museveni as someone who fought through the bush, suffered hardships, and risked his life for leadership. Suna argued that expecting such a leader to simply “hand over” power is unrealistic.

He painted vivid pictures of Museveni’s difficult bush-war journey—eating corn with comrades, smearing themselves with cow dung due to lack of basic supplies, and surviving harsh conditions. According to Suna, anyone who thinks Museveni will casually give up power is living in a fantasy.
Despite the backlash, Suna remains firm in his position. He says he will continue speaking his mind, even if it draws criticism. For now, the incident has sparked a new wave of debate about respect, political culture, and the tension between Uganda’s music and political worlds.
