As pressure continues mounting on the circumstances that led to the death of Uganda’s business magnate and industrialist, Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga, on August 6th, 2025, the widow, Peace Kesiime Bagorogoza is once again under fire for bankrolling false stories in the media against Alwyn Carl Garuga to deflect from answering questions as to why she and her son Philip took the Garuga’s passport with a valid UK medical visa and dumped it at the Turkish visa handling office.
During the late Dr. Garuga’s memorial service held on August 7th at All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero, Bagorogoza took to the pulpit and attributed the death of her late husband to deplorable medical facilities in government hospitals.
For the record, Dr. James Garuga never stepped into a government hospital throughout his time of treatment. Ever since February, when he got a hip problem, he was not in any government hospital but was only in Private hospitals.
When her son, Alwyn Garuga, came out to refute her false claims that the government had a hand in Garuga’s death, Peace Kesiime Bagorogoza resorted to engaging social media company Trumpet News to publish false stories about Alwyn Garuga in an attempt to divert from the growing public pressure for her to be arrested and charged for causing Garuga’s death in contravention of Section 92 of the Penal Code Act.
The public had begun wondering why Brian White was charged for causing death by merely failing to take his girlfriend to a nearby medical facility, yet Peace Bagorogoza and her son Phillip are still roaming free and even publicly attacking government, yet it is public knowledge now that Peace Bagorogoza and her son Philip Musinguzi took the late Dr. Musinguzi James Garuga’s passport with a UK medical visa.
The UK medical visa was painstakingly obtained after intervention by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa and former Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda who personally petitioned the British High Commissioner following the earlier rejection after Bagorogoza and her son Philip Musinguzi had intentionally indicated in the first application that Garuga was just a local farmer.
According to Alwyn Garuga, this was a well-calculated tactic to deny him the much-needed medical evacuation abroad with a standby jet, which would have saved his life and allowed them to take over his vast business empire.
He maintains that Bagorogoza should not be blaming government for Dr. Garuga’s death because it’s the same government that disbursed Shs 800m for his medical treatment which her together with Agaba Maguru diverted and swindled.
They lied that Alwyn Garuga was not close to his late father yet current photos celebrating his 70th birthday show that he was present at their country home in Rugyeyo, Kanungu, where he gave a keynote speech and the late thanked him very much an indication that he was extremely close to his late father and was even his photocopy.
Dr. Garuga sponsored Alwyn Garuga to study at the prestigious Communication University of China and, when he graduated, gave him a job at his offices on Impala House.
The claim that Alwyn Garuga did not attend his father’s funeral in Rugyeyo is also false; photos available can prove them wrong.
Trumpet News also tried to sanitize the fact that the Registrar of Companies removed Agaba Maguru from being a Director of Garuga Properties Ltd, Incafex Ltd and Kinkiizi Development Company Ltd.
The ruling by Daniel Nasasira, Assistant Registrar of Companies, of July 24th, 2026, confirms that indeed Agaba Maguru, fronted by Bagorogoza, fraudulently appointed himself as a Director in the three Garuga companies — Garuga Properties, Kinkiizi Development Company Ltd and INCAFEX — and indeed the Registrar of Companies removed Maguru from the company register.
Furthermore, the available letter written by the Solicitor General to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, instructs that neither Agaba Maguru nor Peace Kesiime Bagorogoza had any authority to petition for government compensation funds to Garuga Properties Ltd, where none of them is a director.
The Solicitor General advised that, since the Administrator General had been appointed as the deceased Garuga’s personal representative, Maguru and Kesiime Bagorogoza Peace should not be given the compensation funds without his input.
We also did some investigations on the allegation that Alwyn Garuga has no children and discovered that he has a daughter called Garuga Arianna, who is the Head Girl at Greenhill Academy and a swimming star, and a son called David Garuga.
So, it seems that Peace Kesiime Bagorogoza has grown desperate, seeing that government is about to arrest her and her conspirators for the gruesome murder of Dr. Garuga.
