Milly Babalanda, the Woman Member of Parliament for Budiope West Constituency, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni following her reappointment as Minister for the Presidency in the new 2026–2031 Cabinet.
President Museveni recently reshuffled his Cabinet and appointed a new team of ministers to serve during the next term of government. With her reappointment, Babalanda is believed to have made history as the first minister to serve in the Ministry of the Presidency for more than one term.
In a message shared on her official X account, Babalanda thanked the President for the confidence and trust he has continued to place in her leadership. She described the appointment as both an honour and a renewed responsibility to continue serving Ugandans faithfully.
“I am deeply humbled and honoured by the trust and confidence you have placed in me through my re-appointment as Minister for the Presidency in the Cabinet for the term 2026–2031,” she stated.
Babalanda also applauded President Museveni’s leadership and long-term vision for Uganda, saying his guidance continues to inspire service built on the four core principles of the National Resistance Movement (NRM): patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy.
She noted that she views the appointment not as a personal achievement, but as another opportunity to work for the people of Uganda with dedication, integrity, and commitment to the NRM Manifesto and the country’s development priorities.
“I receive this appointment not as a personal achievement but as a renewed call to duty to serve the people of Uganda with integrity, diligence, and commitment to the NRM Manifesto and the country’s development agenda,” she said.
The minister further pledged to carry out her responsibilities with loyalty, accountability, and focus, while supporting government programs under President Museveni’s administration. She also reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening coordination within the Presidency and contributing to the achievement of Uganda’s Vision 2040.
Babalanda concluded her message by thanking the President once again for the opportunity to continue serving the nation and prayed for God to grant him wisdom, strength, and good health as he leads Uganda forward.
She ended her statement with a Bible verse from Psalm 107:42, which speaks about justice, restoration of order, and the rejoicing of the righteous.
