Popular events emcee and media personality Sharitah Mazzi Mawanvu has shared a deeply personal chapter of her life, revealing how she became a mother at just 15 years old while still pursuing her education. Her story has since become a powerful example of resilience, determination, and overcoming adversity.
Speaking during an interview, Sharitah recalled her school days as a period when she made some youthful mistakes that dramatically changed the course of her life. At an age when many teenagers are focused on studies and friendships, she found herself facing the reality of motherhood.
The media personality revealed that after discovering she was pregnant, she faced intense criticism from people around her. Some individuals reportedly pressured her to terminate the pregnancy, believing it was the only solution to the situation she was facing.
Despite the overwhelming pressure and negative comments, Sharitah stood firm in her decision to keep the baby. She chose to embrace motherhood, refusing to let public opinion dictate the future of her unborn child.
After giving birth, Sharitah did not allow the challenges of being a young mother to end her dreams. Instead, she returned to school and continued with her studies, determined to secure a better future for herself and her child.
Years later, that same child has become one of the most important people in her life. Sharitah proudly revealed that her firstborn now assists her professionally, helping with photography, videography, and content creation for her social media platforms.
In her trademark humorous style, she joked that her son is not only her cameraman but also her driver, adding that she does not hesitate to reduce his pay whenever she feels the quality of his work falls below her expectations. Her remarks drew laughter while highlighting the close bond they share.
Today, Sharitah is celebrated as one of Uganda’s most sought-after emcees, known for her vibrant energy and ability to light up wedding ceremonies. She says her naturally cheerful personality and genuine passion for celebrating others are among the reasons many brides trust her to host one of the most important days of their lives. Her journey from teenage motherhood to media success continues to inspire many people facing difficult circumstances.
