Daudi Kabanda has launched a fresh attack on National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine, accusing him of focusing on activities abroad while claiming that Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is concentrating on serving the country.
Kabanda’s remarks came after Bobi Wine’s engagements in the United States, where the opposition leader has been meeting different groups and speaking about Uganda’s political situation.
In a statement shared publicly, Kabanda criticized Bobi Wine’s international activities, accusing him of seeking foreign support while portraying Uganda negatively.
“Keep on slaying in America and enjoying the moment as you betray and sell Uganda,” Kabanda said.
The legislator added that Bobi Wine was not the first Ugandan political figure to seek support from outside the country, suggesting that similar approaches had been attempted before.
“You aren’t the first to try that scheme,” Kabanda stated.

Kabanda contrasted Bobi Wine’s activities abroad with what he described as Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s focus on national service and strengthening Uganda’s defense systems.
“As you are slaying there, be informed that Gen MK is busy serving his country and building its defense systems,” he said.
The comments have sparked debate among Ugandans, with supporters from both sides sharing different opinions about the roles of opposition leaders and government officials.
Bobi Wine has previously defended his international engagements, saying that speaking to global leaders and organizations is part of efforts to highlight issues affecting Ugandans.
His supporters argue that international advocacy is a common practice used by political movements around the world to draw attention to national concerns.
However, critics such as Kabanda believe that political challenges should primarily be addressed within Uganda rather than through foreign platforms.
The exchange reflects the continued political rivalry between supporters of the ruling government and the opposition.
Questions about patriotism, international lobbying and the role of opposition leaders remain some of the most debated topics in Uganda’s political space.
Kabanda’s statement also praised Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, presenting him as a leader focused on national responsibilities and security matters.
The remarks come at a time when political discussions around Uganda’s future leadership continue to attract public attention.
Social media users have reacted differently to the statement, with some supporting Kabanda’s views while others defending Bobi Wine’s right to engage internationally.

Political observers note that international visits by opposition leaders often generate strong reactions from governments and their supporters.
The disagreement between the two sides highlights deeper differences in how political actors view national interests and strategies for change.
While one side emphasizes foreign engagement and international attention, the other argues that national development should remain the main focus.
As political debates continue, Ugandans remain divided over whether international advocacy strengthens or weakens efforts to address domestic issues.
For now, Kabanda’s remarks have added another chapter to the ongoing political exchanges between leaders from different sides of Uganda’s political landscape.
The debate surrounding Bobi Wine’s US engagements and Gen Muhoozi’s role in government affairs is expected to continue as both figures remain influential in national discussions.
