Former Kawempe North parliamentary aspirant Moses Nsereko has officially joined the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), marking a notable shift in his political journey and adding momentum to the organization’s expanding influence.
Nsereko’s entry into PLU follows a series of high-level engagements held at the movement’s secretariat in Naguru, Kampala. The discussions, described by insiders as constructive and forward-looking, centered on strengthening grassroots mobilization and widening the organization’s national reach.
He was formally received by Michael Mawanda Maranga, the PLU Director in charge of Mobilization, who expressed confidence in Nsereko’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the movement’s growth, especially in urban constituencies like Kawempe.
PLU leadership believes that Nsereko’s inclusion will significantly reinforce their presence on the ground. His prior political engagement in Kawempe North is seen as an asset that can help energize support networks and mobilize new followers within the area and beyond.
Mawanda highlighted the importance of the development, noting that bringing in experienced political actors like Nsereko strengthens the organization’s grassroots structures and enhances its capacity to connect with communities effectively.
Beyond recruitment, Mawanda has also been actively driving internal development initiatives within PLU. At the Naguru offices, he recently led a sensitization session aimed at equipping party cadres with essential skills and reinforcing the movement’s core principles.
During this engagement, participants were guided on effective mobilization techniques, while also being encouraged to uphold discipline, unity, and professionalism when interacting with the public—values that PLU leadership considers central to its identity.
According to party officials, such efforts are part of a broader strategy to build a resilient and value-driven political base capable of advancing PLU’s agenda across Uganda, with new entrants like Nsereko expected to play a pivotal role in that mission.
