First Lady Janet Museveni has appeared in new photographs shared by her daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire, giving Ugandans a rare glimpse of her as she continues recovering from a serious health condition.
The pictures show Janet Museveni standing, smiling and spending time with family members during what appears to be a private family moment.
In one of the photographs, Natasha, dressed in a yellow sleeveless top, is seen standing close to her mother with her arm around her.
Natasha shared the images on Instagram alongside a short message expressing gratitude to God.
“Thank you LORD Jesus!” she wrote, attracting reactions from many people who have been following the First Lady’s recovery journey.
The photographs have generated excitement among Ugandans because Janet Museveni has kept a low public profile in recent months.

Her reduced public appearances followed a health scare that was revealed by President Yower Museveni earlier this year.
During celebrations to mark Janet Museveni’s 78th birthday on June 24, President Museveni disclosed that his wife had gone through a serious health challenge.
The President said Janet experienced a life-threatening condition on March 21, 2026, but doctors helped save her life.
“God, using good doctors, saved Maama’s life and she is now recovering well,” Museveni said.
However, the President did not reveal details about the illness she suffered or where she received medical treatment.
Following the announcement, many Ugandans expressed concern and continued sending messages wishing the First Lady a quick recovery.
On June 25, President Museveni appointed State Minister for Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo to act as Minister of Education and Sports.
Janet Museveni has served as Education Minister since 2016, making her one of the longest-serving ministers in the current government.
Her absence from ministry activities had earlier raised questions, but the President’s statement explained that she had been dealing with health challenges.
The latest photographs have been welcomed by supporters and well-wishers who described them as a sign of improvement.

Many people have continued to pray for the First Lady’s full recovery and return to public duties.
The images also show a family moment as Janet spends time with her daughter during her recovery period.
Natasha’s message appears to reflect appreciation and hope following her mother’s health struggles.
The First Lady’s condition remains a subject of public interest because of her long service in government and her role as the country’s First Lady.
The new photographs have provided reassurance to many Ugandans who have been waiting for updates about her wellbeing.
As Janet Museveni continues recovering, her family and supporters remain hopeful about her return to normal activities.
