St. Mary’s College Mayenze continues to prove that education is not only about books but also about discovering and nurturing talent. This was clearly seen during the exciting Talent Show held on Thursday, 2nd April 2026. The event brought together students from different classes to showcase their unique abilities, creating a lively and memorable experience for the entire school community. From dancing and comedy to creative competitions, the show highlighted the confidence, creativity, and energy that define learners at St. Mary’s.
The Talent Show featured a variety of fun and competitive activities. In the Bottle Feeling challenge, Munialo Jude (S3) emerged the winner, while Munialo Joel (S3) impressed everyone by winning the Spoon Egg race. Bunyila Aggrey (S5) took the lead in the Annoying Competition, showing boldness and creativity. Musoba Emma won the Sack Race, and in the Mining competition, Samara Sharif (S5) and Makeme Isaac shared victory. The Cultural Dance category was colorful and energetic, with Masawi Mercy and Namukye Phiona taking the top spot. In Modeling, Nambuya Proscovia and Wokuti Calvin stood out with confidence and style, while Khainza Anna Faith entertained the crowd and won the Comedy category. The event was full of laughter, excitement, and unity, reminding everyone that talent is a powerful part of education.
While the Talent Show was the highlight, it also reflected the broader vision of the school. St. Mary’s College Mayenze appreciates parents and guardians for trusting the school with bright students, especially those who performed well in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) with first and second divisions. Many students have even chosen to transfer from other districts such as Kampala, Mbale, Soroti, and Tororo to join the school, showing the strong reputation it has built over time.
To further support and motivate learners, the school has introduced a half bursary initiative for talented and committed students. This program offers a 50% reduction in tuition fees to students who excel academically or in sports, especially those with PLE aggregates between 4 and 14. This opportunity helps reduce the financial burden on parents while encouraging students to work hard and develop their abilities. Additional support is also provided to vulnerable learners, including fee reductions for students who have lost one or both parents.
St. Mary’s College Mayenze is not only focused on academic success but also on building character and discipline. Through daily prayers, Scripture Union activities, and Holy Mass, students grow spiritually and morally. The school also organizes educational visits to important national sites, including the Parliament of Uganda, helping learners understand their country better. Boarding students are well cared for with balanced meals and a structured environment that allows them to focus on both academics and personal growth.
The success seen during the Talent Show is a true reflection of what the school stands for—developing confident, disciplined, and all-round individuals. St. Mary’s College Mayenze continues to shape future leaders by combining quality education, talent development, and strong values.
As we celebrate this season of renewal and joy, we extend our warmest wishes for a blessed and peaceful Easter to all our parents, guardians, teachers, Board of Governors, and the neighbors of St. Mary’s College Mayenze. May this Easter bring hope, happiness, and harmony to all.
