The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has appointed Felix Kaihura as the new head of its National Media Task Force (NMTF), a strategic move designed to enhance the party’s public relations, communications network, and national outreach.
The appointment, confirmed on Tuesday by PLU National Vice Chairman Michael Nuwagira—widely known as Toyota—was made on behalf of PLU National Chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Party sources describe this as part of a broader plan to streamline information flow between the national secretariat and regional communication structures.
“Felix has demonstrated remarkable skill in communication strategy and media engagement,” Nuwagira said. “We believe his leadership will strengthen PLU’s message of unity, openness, and inclusive progress across the country.”
Accepting the role, Kaihura expressed gratitude and determination to elevate PLU’s media presence. “It’s an honor to take on this responsibility. My focus will be on building robust relationships with media professionals, ensuring accurate and timely communication, and amplifying youth voices in Uganda’s political space,” he stated.
Kaihura outlined plans to prioritize digital outreach, structured communication channels, and community-level engagement. The task force, under his guidance, will roll out grassroots sensitization forums, regular press briefings, and online campaigns to broaden PLU’s visibility and reinforce its messaging consistency nationwide.

Felix Kaihura’s leadership journey began in academia, where he served as Guild President of Nkumba University, winning the position with a record margin while pursuing his Bachelor of Laws degree. His commitment to public service later saw him join the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) as a civil servant and subsequently become Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council, where he worked alongside Ministers Aber Lilian and Phiona Nyamutooro.
With a background blending legal training, youth mobilization, and governance experience, PLU officials describe Kaihura as a dynamic leader capable of steering the party’s communication agenda toward greater professionalism, innovation, and public trust.
