At Kampala International University (KIU), while pursuing health sciences, he held key positions, including Guild President of the School of Allied Health Sciences, President of the Northern Students Association, and President of the West Nile Students Association. These roles strengthened his leadership skills and gave him insight into the challenges facing students, especially those from Northern Uganda.
In 2020/2021, Obindu ran for Youth MP for Northern Uganda, gaining invaluable experience in advocacy and political representation. This role deepened his commitment to youth empowerment, education, and economic development.
Obindu is also a medical clinical officer and is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). This combination of healthcare and legal expertise allows him to address pressing issues from multiple perspectives. He is a passionate defender of human rights and has consistently spoken against corruption and abuse of power.
A key achievement of Obindu’s has been defending street vendors in Arua Central from unfair evictions and harassment, demonstrating his commitment to fairness and justice. As a businessman and estimator, he also understands resource management and community development, equipping him to create economic opportunities that uplift residents’ lives.
The people of Arua Central clearly trust Obindu Jackson. His opponent, Asega Habib Jojo, has struggled to deliver meaningful leadership, and analysts warn that choosing him could weaken NUP’s influence in the region.
