Kampala Woman MP aspirant Hon. Zahara Marah Luyirika reportedly met with Bobi Wine’s wife, Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi, to address rumors linking her romantically to opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi.
Accompanied by her mother and close relatives, Zahara explained that the allegations were false and politically motivated, emphasizing that her bid for the Kampala Woman MP seat was independent of Bobi Wine. Sources say she made a heartfelt appeal for understanding, which Barbie appeared to acknowledge.
The meeting is seen as a strategic move that could improve Zahara’s chances of securing the NUP flag, amid internal competition from Hon. Shamim Malende, who was previously considered Barbie’s preferred candidate. Analysts note that this reconciliation could influence NUP’s final endorsement for Kampala Woman MP and reshape the party’s strategy ahead of the 2026 elections.
