Kampala socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa, popularly known as Bad Black, has announced that she has officially stopped bleaching her skin after more than 13 years of using skin-lightening products.
Bad Black revealed that she has made the decision because she wants to return to her natural appearance and embrace the dark complexion she was born with.
The socialite shared the announcement with her followers on Snapchat, describing the move as a major personal decision and a new chapter in her life.
According to Bad Black, she no longer wants to change her natural skin colour and wants to allow her original complexion to come back after years of using bleaching products.
She explained that the decision was motivated by a desire to embrace self-love and become comfortable with her true identity.
Bad Black said she wants her children to grow up knowing and seeing the real woman who gave them life instead of a version changed by skin-lightening products.

The Kampala socialite admitted that for many years she used products such as carolite and other bleaching creams as she tried to maintain a lighter complexion.
She said she has now chosen to stop hiding her natural skin colour and wants to appreciate the beauty of her original appearance.
Her announcement has attracted attention from many Ugandans, with some praising her decision to embrace her natural identity.
Skin bleaching remains a topic of discussion in Uganda, with many young women using different products in an attempt to achieve lighter skin tones.
Bad Black’s decision has started conversations about self-confidence, beauty standards and the pressure some people face to change their appearance.
The socialite said she wants to inspire other women who struggle with accepting their natural complexion to appreciate themselves.
She believes beauty should not only be defined by skin colour but by confidence, character and how someone carries themselves.
Many people who knew Shanitah before she became famous have previously commented about how different she looks compared to her earlier years.
Some of her former schoolmates and relatives have reportedly said they sometimes struggle to recognize her when they meet her at public events because of the changes in her appearance over the years.

However, Bad Black says she is now ready to reconnect with the person she was before using bleaching products.
She has encouraged women who have gone through similar experiences to make choices that make them feel comfortable and confident.
The socialite’s announcement comes at a time when discussions about skin bleaching and natural beauty continue across African communities.
Many campaigners have encouraged people to avoid harmful practices and instead embrace their natural skin tones.
Bad Black’s decision marks a major change in her personal journey as she begins the process of allowing her natural complexion to return.
She said she is proud of the choice she has made and hopes her decision will encourage others to value their natural beauty.
