Reports have emerged that former Kira Municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has allegedly started making plans to dispose of some of his properties after leaving Uganda, with sources claiming that his Bukasa home and other investments have been placed on the market.
People familiar with the matter claim that the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Secretary General instructed property dealers to search for potential buyers for his home located in Bukasa, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
The property, which sits on more than one acre of land, is said to have undergone several developments over the years as Ssemujju built his political career and expanded his investments.
Sources claim that the house is being marketed at an estimated value of between Shs1 billion and Shs1.5 billion, with some potential buyers reportedly having started showing interest.
However, Ssemujju Nganda has not publicly confirmed reports that he is selling his home or revealed his plans concerning his properties.
Ssemujju, who served as Kyadondo East Member of Parliament before becoming Kira Municipality MP, has been one of Uganda’s most outspoken opposition politicians for many years.

The reports come at a time when opposition figures have raised concerns about political pressure, arrests and security challenges affecting some government critics.
Ssemujju is among opposition leaders who have reportedly spent time outside Uganda amid concerns about their safety, although details surrounding his current location and future plans remain unclear.
The reports further claim that another property linked to the former legislator, a commercial building in Bweyogerere, is also being considered for sale.
According to the claims, the commercial building was acquired from the family of former CBS Radio presenter Tamale Konde, who later relocated to the United States.
Sources also allege that Ssemujju owns several other investments in Kampala metropolitan areas, greater Masaka and other parts of the country.
The former MP has built a reputation as a strong government critic, often questioning government decisions and demanding accountability from public officials.
His political journey has seen him serve in Parliament for several years while also taking on leadership roles within opposition circles.
The claims about his property sales have attracted public attention, with many political observers questioning whether the move is linked to his reported stay outside the country.
However, selling property does not automatically confirm permanent relocation, as individuals often dispose of assets for various personal or financial reasons.
Reports also suggest that Ssemujju’s family could eventually join him outside Uganda, although this information has not been independently verified.

Over the years, Ssemujju has spoken openly about the challenges faced by opposition politicians and the difficulties of political activism in Uganda.
His name has also appeared in discussions surrounding recent opposition arrests and political disagreements between government and opposition groups.
The latest reports come amid a wider debate about the future of Uganda’s opposition movement and the pressure faced by opposition leaders.
Political observers say decisions by politicians to relocate, sell assets or spend time abroad often attract attention because of the sensitive political environment in the country.
For now, questions remain over whether the reported sale of Ssemujju’s properties is connected to a permanent move abroad or simply a private investment decision.
Neither Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda nor his representatives have publicly responded to the reports regarding his Bukasa home and other properties.
