My name is Janet, a mother from Tororo, Uganda, and I would like to share one of the most heartbreaking moments my family has ever faced.

It all began on what seemed like an ordinary morning when my daughter left home as she normally did. Nothing appeared out of place, and we fully expected her to return later in the day.
But when night fell and she had not come back, fear and concern slowly started to grow within us. We made countless attempts to reach her by phone, but every call went unanswered because her number was unreachable.
We contacted relatives, friends, neighbors, and anyone who could possibly know where she had gone, but nobody had any information that could help us find her.

Whenever the phone rang, we prayed it would bring news about our daughter. Whenever reports emerged about a young woman being spotted somewhere, we hurried to follow up, only to return home disappointed once again.

My younger children frequently asked when their sister would return home, but I had no answers that could comfort them.
As time went by, people offered all kinds of advice.
Some encouraged us to stop hoping and accept the worst, while others urged us to continue searching.
Despite the emotional exhaustion and discouragement, I refused to lose faith that one day we would find her.
